So, good morning. Salaamāt Pāgi. Salaam Pāgi. I'm very honored to address in front of you about this very important issue as it was said. We don't call it problem because that's the custom today's, not called problems problems. and pretend that they don't exist. But nevertheless, we'll talk about this particular issue. It's a plan that we don't have a problem as a matter of issues, but as a issue. So, we will talk about the issue of the issue. Just two words about my background. I've been studying Vedic culture for 40 plus years. But I have a scientific background as our moderator has told. And it's a very fascinating prospect or journey to look from both sides on the issues of this world. from the scientific eye or from the scientific lens and from the Vedic lens, lens of Vedic culture. I have been learning about the spiritual Vedic experience for 40 years. but I also have a religious and science. And unfortunately the first victims of this problem are young people or even children who are very vulnerable and very susceptible to this kind of problems. And it's something like addiction. And addiction they have a particular feature. It's very easy to get addicted and it's very difficult to get rid of the addiction. To get out of this vicious circle of addiction. So I will speak about the four different causes. of this problem. One cause is the inner dissatisfaction of every human being. It's a very deep cause within our heart. Another cause is the psychological confusion which people have nowadays, mental cause. The third cause is cultural. It's the societal cause, the social influence, so to speak, or the promotion of this particular behavior. And the fourth cause, the deepest one is the spiritual cause. So I will speak first about these four causes and then we can see the solutions for all of these causes. So the first cause is very simple. the first cause is that everyone in this material world is not happy. According to the Vedic scriptures the nature of the soul the nature of consciousness is ananda, bliss. And we are all looking for this Ananda, for this blissful existence of blissful experience or blissful feelings inside. Everyone wants some happiness, everyone wants some complete, you know, exciting experience in this world. But the problem is that in this world, the happiness which we are looking for is not possible because Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says, Dukhalaya Masyashvatam, this world is miserable. But, if we find the way in this world, it is not possible because Sri Krishna himself is very important in our own, that the nature of the world is one of the most important And because we are looking for happiness, we try to find happiness, but we think that happiness is possible in this material world, in this material environment, so to speak. So we are now looking for the happiness of the world in the world. And the sex, sex enjoyment or sex experience is closest experience to the happiness which we are looking for. It gives you some sort of understanding what your normal state is. And therefore in the material world everyone is crazy about sex. They are trying to get as much sex as possible. But the problem with the sex is that it doesn't really bring you lasting satisfaction. This word is made like this that it gives you the hope for happiness but it doesn't give you the happiness itself, only the hope for it. The Vedic scripture explained that the living entities in this material world, they are like a deer who is running for water in the desert. Like the same thing, the Ekodusa is pouring water. You seem to have water but ultimately there is no water and at the end you die because of the thirst. But the sun is only a lot of air. When we are there and not the air is there, we will be able to die because of the chaos. So the experience of sex, the enjoyment of sex, is not really happiness, it's like a mirage of happiness. So, the experience of sexual relations is not a happiness, but a happiness. Like that, the fact of the organ is a happiness. It's very flickering, it's not very stable, and at the end it doesn't give you satisfaction. And the source, the desire for happiness is becoming only stronger after this experience of sex. But because people don't know where to find the real happiness and the real satisfaction, they still again and again and again try to find it in a sex experience, even though they failed so many times, but still the hope to find it is very strong. But because we can't understand how we can understand the overall value of the world, we can try to get it through the process of different ways. So the first cause is that people don't know what real happiness is and where to find the real happiness. and being bewildered by the propaganda of this world, they are looking for happiness in the wrong place. But as a result, they become less and less happy, less and less satisfied, and more and more thirsty for happiness, and therefore they try to they try to again satisfied by more sex and they becoming less happy and this is a vicious circle. and it is like a cycle of a living. To try to satisfy our desire for happiness by having sex is the same as to try to quench the thirst by drinking salty water. You drink salty water and for a second you feel that your So the first solution for this, and therefore all this perverted forms of sex, they become more and more prominent in the society. People don't get real satisfaction from normal quote-unquote sexual relationship and they think if I get it in a very exotic way, way in a very special way then I will get more satisfaction and because forbidden fruit is always sweeter than the normal fruit initially it gives you a little more satisfaction just on the mental level. Yeah, on the mental level. Yeah, when something is readily available, then it's not so tasty. but if something is perverted, if something is forbidden, if something you have to difficult it to get it, then it seems to be more tasty. Yes, I am. Ultimately, it all depends on the working of our brain because this excitement which we experience during the sex is produced by the production of dopamine, certain neurotransmitter in the brain, and if the sexual relationship are somewhat forbidden, then there is more dopamine is being produced and people feel more excited about it. So, the feeling of the taste of the mental, in our brain, is a neurotransmitter. Dopamine. That is because of dopamine. So, when it comes to sexual sexual, it is the feeling of the sexual connection. So again, the first cause of the spread of LGBT and all kinds of perverted behavior, and not only LGBT, but all kinds of drugs, and all these problems, social problems which we face, alcohol and even tobacco smoking this is the general dissatisfaction which people feel and the ignorance of where to find real satisfaction that trying to find satisfaction in the wrong place and especially in the modern society, people are not so happy because of such a stressful condition because the modern society is very stressogenic. It creates a lot of stress in people. In Bali you might not feel it so much because in Bali everyone is so much relaxed. But if you go to America, especially if you go to New York, the very atmosphere in this city is so tense. That people just go crazy, just being in New York City. It's unbelievable you just enter New York the Kennedy Airport in New York and you feel so much pressure upon your psyche And then in the city there are so many crazy people. Basically every sort of false person you meet in the streets is completely crazy. you can see it in his or her behavior. So because people under so much stress and they experience so much stress, they become less and less happy. And therefore the desire to get some sort of relief from this unhappiness and stress is becoming stronger. And therefore they are trying to find some artificial means to get rid of this stress by alcohol, drugs, or sex, or this LGBT sexual behavior. and so they can be more powerful to get rid of stress, and find power. But then they find power from artificial sources, such as alcohol, sexual sexual, such as LGBT. So the first cause of this pandemic of LGBT and drugs and other social problems which we have is the stress of the modern society, stress which everyone experiences and unhappiness on the top of general dissatisfaction which people have in this world. and so on, people don't know where to find the real source of happiness and therefore they are looking at it in the wrong place. So, I will explain problem by problem first and then I will give solution in the same order. So, the first problem is this general dissatisfaction which everyone feels. The second cause of this problem is the confusion, the mental confusion of people in the modern world. the problem of problems, then the problem will be given solutions from each problem. So the first thing is that there is a feeling that people are not present in the community. And the second thing is the situation of the mental issue. We all know this word Dharma. And Dharma means nature, the inner nature of a human being. In the Vedic society which was free from all the social evils which modern society has, the Dharma was the most important word. In the Vedic society, the Dharma is one of the most important words. People from the very young age were educated about what Dharma is, what Dharma of a man is, what Dharma of a woman is, what Dharma of a son is, what Dharma of a parent is, so on and so forth. Dharma is the understanding of your nature and understanding of how you act according to this nature. how you should act according to the nature. Human beings are very complicated beings and therefore they tend to be confused. Animals they act according to their nature, but human beings can act in many different ways. Men can act as women, women can act as men, and so many different confusions can be there. In the Vedic society, this education of what is your nature and how you should behave according to the nature was very very prominent and that would save people from confusion. What is your life's way of life? How do you think about it? It's a very important thing for us to establish our identity very firmly. And when our identity is not very firmly established, it's very difficult to behave properly and it's very difficult to find satisfaction even in this life. During the Second World War in India, there was a big advertisement. On this billboard, there was a photograph of military uniform. and the sign under this billboard was like this put it on and you will know what to do what you are supposed to do The point is that people can behave in many different ways and when they don't know who they are, they don't know how to act. And if you know who you are, it's very easy for you to act properly and to be happy being engaged properly in your actions. For example, if you are hired in a job in some company and you come there and you start working and you ask what I'm supposed to do and they say, we don't know, just do whatever you like. You know, you will be totally confused. For society to function properly, everyone has to know his or her dharma or duty or the particular role which you're supposed to play in the society. If you don't know, please do what you want to work. Then the person who is working will be confused. And like that, we all want to understand what is our responsibility, what is our karma, what is our role in society. When people know this is my role and this is how I should act, they will be very busy, productively working according to the role which they have to play. And then they will not be confused and they will not be bewildered by all these things. When you are very firmly established in your identity, it's very easy to act and you are much more happy because you can act in a proper way. We will be happy to achieve our goals. But in the modern society, what happens is there is no established norms and rules and people don't know what to do. But in the government, there is no norm or act that is allowed to be put in the law so that people are not aware of what is going to be done. what to do. Because the traditional society is being destroyed practically everywhere. Bali is perhaps the most glamorous exception from this rule, but because the traditional culture is completely destroyed, people don't know what to do, how to use their energy in a productive way. And moreover, the confusion which is already there in the people's mind is being promoted by the teachers and doctors and educators instead of telling people who they are. They are making them doubtful. So teachers are planting this idea in the minds of little children to experiment with their sexual behavior. One friend of mine, he lives in America, he is an Indian person, he lives in America, he told me that his 12-year-old son, he came to him one day and asked him the question. He said, because our teachers are start to think about it. So the proper education means to help people to establish their identity. But the modern education means to completely confuse people about their identity. Instead of telling people in a very inequitable way, you are male or you are female, you are this and that, this is your duty, you have to behave in a particular way, just think about it, maybe you will figure out something else. And therefore everyone is confused and therefore all this sort of strange behavior is being so much prevalent in the society. So the first reason is the general dissatisfaction and the stress in the society. The second reason is the general confusion of people who don't know their identity. The third reason is cultural reason. That's the active promotion of all these ideas in the society. It started in the 50s, end of 50s, beginning of 60s, in the 20th century. At that time before that before the 20th century people were under illusion there is only two genders Yes. But then the sexology became the accepted signs and the sexologist started investigating people and evaluating their sexuality. sexuality sexology and then the sexology and then the study about sexology and that there are more than that One very clever scientist, he designed a special questionnaire asking people about their sexual behavior and evaluating them according to the scale from 0 to 6. 0 means you are completely established in your natural identity, sexual identity. And 6, you are completely bewildered and think about something else. So, there is a person who is a smart person, then he is a customer. And from this customer, he is studying about sexuality of someone, and the result is from the scale of 0 to 6. If you are at the scale of 0, you are really really good in the identity of gender, and according to his scientific study most of the people that he published it in a journal and started promoting it according to his scientific study most of the people were somewhere in between they were somewhat different sexual orientation And they started developing this idea about gender. For the children. In these so-called school books, there are very vivid and gross descriptions of this homosexual behavior, which are basically pornographic in nature. But this is the school book, the textbook, which children have to study, and that gives them idea what they should do in their life. because this book is a book, a book of books, books of books that are related to sexuality. It just is a picture that is very clear and very vulgar about this relationship, about homosexual relationships and so on. And the parents have no right to say that I don't want my children to study this text books. So this idea is very actively and very aggressively is being promoted in the Western society. And the Western society as we know dominates all over the world. They want to basically push their values everywhere. So that's the third reason of this widespread problem of LGBT. and now it's not LGBT even if you say LGBT it's it's very unfair now you have to say LGBTQ and so many other letters after that or LGBTQ plus it means so many other letters so many other genders So, they don't accept it if they are just LGBT, because they don't have the same type of gender, so they are LGBTQ and other groups or LGBTQ plus. It's a lot of different types of gender. So, this is so-called progressive, democratic, Western society and Western culture, which completely destroys the human nature. completely destroys the normal society. And this little children, I gave this example about the boy or girl, whatever it is. who changed his gender or her gender at the age of 12, they don't know that this is basically chemical castration. They will never be able to produce children. that they don't believe that what they are going to do is a or a chemical. So after they are going to do it, they will not be able to get down. And it is an established fact that all these people who for experimenting with their sexuality and everything else, their physical health is destroyed. And there are some facts that they have been exposed to, that they have been exposed to this gender. 50% of these people, 50% of people who are seeking for happiness, being LGBT, they have depression and panic attacks. Much more than normal people. 50% of them. It's also established fact that these people are much more prone to have some drugs or drug addiction because again they are not happy and they are trying to find happiness by drugs. They are so happy to be able to get the power of the people. Certain form of cancer are much more prominent in this LGBT society, especially anal cancer. The possibility of getting this kind of cancer is hundreds of times more than for normal people. And of course... And of course, AIDS, the disease which is transmitted through this, again, many times more chances to contract this disease if you engage in this behavior. AIDS, it's a big deal. So even though in the modern society it's becoming more or less an accepted norm from this abnormal kind of behavior, it becomes an established norm, now it's becoming even fashionable, but it completely destroys the health of people. And so, the way that Jesus is becoming more powerful. Yes, and this is how it is becoming, being promoted. There is an understanding of the Overtones window, how to promote certain idea. And to promote certain ideas, you start with being the abnormal idea. Gradually, gradually becomes accepted, accepted, then it becomes the norm of the society, and then it becomes the fashion. But the next thing is that it can be a trend. Previously, if you were engaged in this behavior, you were abnormal. Now, if you are not engaged in this behavior, you are abnormal. You will become outcast in the universities in America if you are not engaged in this sort of stuff. So the problem with the modern culture that this thing becomes the fashion. This thing becomes, because it's being actively promoted, it becomes not even the norm. It becomes the fashionable behavior. So the problem with the model is that this is not only normalization, but then it becomes a problem. And then there is a force cause for this. I told about the general dissatisfaction, I told about this cultural problem, I told about the what was this? The bewilderment of confusion. The third cause, the fourth cause is spiritual cause. The first thing is the lack of power in a normal way, the second thing is the lack of power in a normal way, and the third thing is the cultural, social and spiritual aspect. If we analyze the modern society, the modern society is very much atheistic against God. The atheistic science has become a fanatical religion of modern people. And the underlying idea of the science is that people are more intelligent than God. God doesn't exist, but people are the most intelligent. The idea behind science is that we know better. We know what to do. By genetic engineering, we can change the plans and the plans will become better than the plans which God gave us. by all kinds of manipulation, we can improve the nature and we can go to other planets and so on and so forth. So this kind of rebellious attitude towards God against the laws of nature is very much prevalent in the modern society. There is a very strong model in the world. And the underlying principle or the underlying idea behind this sexual behavior is of the same nature. To go against God. We receive the particular body from the nature, from God, and instead of acting according to this body, we are trying to change this body, we are trying to change the nature of the body, to pervert the nature. So this is a very deep root of ultimately this problem homosexuality or all this LGBT, all this kinds of behavior is to go against God, to change the natural arrangement of God which has given us particular nature. So, enough about the problems, let's talk about solution. So, as I said, the first cause of this problem is the dissatisfaction and the lack of understanding how human being can become happy. Sex is a very important function of a human being, no doubt about it. but the enjoyment which is coming from the sex is only byproduct of the sexual relationship the main purpose of sex is procreation And the experience that we have from sexual relations is a result of a result of a result of a result of sexual relations. But when the byproduct becomes the main purpose of this activity, it causes the harm to human beings. When the product is just the first goal of this, it is the first goal of this. Like purpose of eating is to become healthy and to become strong, but enjoyment is just the by-product of eating, natural by-product of eating. like food. But if we misuse eating and start eating for the enjoyment, not to become healthy, then the result will be completely different. Some people eat to live, other people live to eat. In the same way, sex is for procreation when the sex becomes the purpose in itself and it becomes something self-redued. I don't know, whatever, how you call it. When it becomes the purpose in itself, then it becomes the cause of all problems. And now this is the idea which is being promoted in all kinds of literature, in all kinds of movies, and everywhere else, just to make people crazy. And the point again is that you're not becoming more happy by having sex, you're becoming less because it doesn't give you ultimate satisfaction for your soul. So if we're talking about the education of children, Then the first point of education, the most important point of education of children is to tell them where to find happiness. That the happiness is within your soul when your mind is completely satisfied and peaceful. We say Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Because peace, Shanti is the most important prerequisite of happiness Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita Ashantasyakutafsukham. Where is the question of happiness if there is not peace? But if you're always busy looking for sex and more sex and perverted sex and this sex or that sex, then you will never be peaceful. sex series this series, series that series, series that series that is anew and not wajar how to deal with it. So Krishna says, if something brings you immediate happiness, then the result will be more unhappiness at the end. in the beginning it's like nectar and then it's like poison but he says there is another kind of happiness which is happiness in sattvagon in goodness in the beginning it's like poison but at the end it's like nectar in the beginning you may not like it immediately but then at the end you feel oh it's very good and the happiness which you get at the end is very lasting So to educate people then we should not try to immediately gratify our senses but try to pay some price for the lasting satisfaction at the end. That's very important point. Happiness is a very valuable thing, but we have to be ready to pay the price to get this valuable thing, we should not try to get it cheaply. So to give this education and to give the experience to children, to little children, ultimately after paying some price which may be a little heavy, they become very happy at the end is very important. So, this is very important for the education of children. That with the victim, they can get a better and better life. And then, regarding the confusion which modern society implants in people, We have to, again, educate children in a very strong way what is their nature according to the sex, gender, according to their position in the society and everything else. To explain, to come back to this concept of Dharma. This education in Dharma will really help people to become productive and happy members of the society. Now everyone has his Dharma, his nature, and he has to act according to this nature. I was told that in Bali the wife is busy doing some household work and the husband is sitting in the doorstep and watching how the how you say this the fight of cockfight. So, Dharma of a wife is proper to do household duties, but Dharma of a husband is not properly established in Bali. In any case, this education of that you can only become happy if you act according to your nature is very important. And you have to know your nature and act according to the nature. That's extremely important for the children. Instead of trying to change your nature, you should try to understand your nature and act accordingly. and then you will become only happy. Not to try to change our spiritual skills, but to try to understand it and then to achieve it according to the spiritual skills. This is what can bring to the happiness. And the third solution, of course, is very difficult because we're living in this society where these ideas are very aggressively being promoted. And the only solution is to try to isolate children from this aggressive propaganda. of this ideas. Because especially Hollywood movies, they very aggressively promote these ideas nowadays. Of course, Bollywood is not less contagious in this regard. I remember I was driving in Delhi and there was a big billboard of a new movie from Bollywood. And there was a big macho man, you know, half naked and there was half naked woman next to him, something like this. And the title of the movie was The End of Innocence. And I was thinking, The End of Innocence, The Beginning of Nonsense. We have to protect the natural innocence in the children. The young children, they are very innocent and it's very important to protect them from this corrupted influence, external influence. It's very easy to spoil their innocence and it's very difficult to protect their innocence. And it's a duty of society, of educators, of parents, of the teachers to protect the innocence of children. I was actually very happy here in Bali because I see that people are still very innocent. They are doing all these beautiful rituals, they are worshipping gods, and it's very endearing to the heart to see it. The people are still innocent. So to protect this culture which nourishes the innocent nature of people is very important. So please protect and nourish the culture which is so beautifully established here in Delhi and in Bali. and it will be the model for the whole world. So I pray that the culture, the traditions and the traditions that are in Bali will be protected. And this will be a positive contribution to the world. But it's still possible for every sane living entity. We have to understand that we are part of God and instead of rebelling against him, instead of trying to establish our independence of Him, we should try to come in harmony with Him, and bring our whole being closer to Him. The real way to happiness is to become closer to God and if you understand that this is the only way to become closer to become happy, then it will be very easy to overcome all these problems. And the Vedic recipe, the Vedic upaya to bring our individual consciousness in harmony with the Supreme Consciousness or Consciousness of God is to chant His name or to chant mantras. Chanting God's name, chanting mantras, chanting Om, saying Om Swastastu and so many other things will help us to come in harmony with the Supreme Consciousness.
